RAGHURAM RAJAN
Raghuram Rajan succeeded Dr D Subbarao as the 23rd of the Reserve bank of India on 4th this, he was the Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He has also served as Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago’s Booth School. Between 2003 and 2006 Dr. Rajan, he was the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. In 1985 he graduated from IIT, Delhi as Electrical engineer. In 1987, he acquired a postgraduate diploma in business administration from IIM, Delhi and then went on to complete a PHD from MIT.
He won the Fischer Black Prize awarded by the American Finance Association for contributions to the theory and practice of finance by an economist under age 40 in 2003. He was awarded the fifth Deutsche Bank Prize for Financial Economics in 2013. He is also highly acclaimed for predicting the 2008 global financial crisis.
